
these are real images of tulip fields! can you believe it? i have to make it to holland someday for the tulip season. according to this article, holland produces nine billion bulbs (two bulbs for every person on the planet) each year! wowza. even though i understand that this is clearly the most practical way to grow them, in rows of like breeds (is that rght? breeds of flowers? that doesn't sound right...the word is escaping me for how to say different types of the same plant, but you know what i mean), i am amazed that they can control it so well and have such cleanly delineated rows of color. i feel like this should be in the next todd oldham ad campaign or something.

You should visit Washington state and check out the tulips! About an hour north of Seattle, they have the Skagit County Tulip Festival (going on right now!), they have tulip and daffodil fields very similar to your Holland pics. Really really gorgeous!
