in 2005 my friend from college and i rented a live/work loft in an old cigar factory in west oakland. we had big dreams of producing tons of paintings and living the starving artist lifestyle. but it kinda sucked and we didn't get anything done. anyway, long story short we had to find a new renter to take over our lease and this girl from los angeles (i think) was going to get her mfa in photography from cca and ended up renting it. she was so happy with the loft and it was great to pass it on to someone who would actually use it. on a whim i decided to look her up on the ol' web to see if she was up to anything. and i think her work is pretty interesting! i wonder if she still lives in that apartment...
